Dr. Shawn Douglas
Dr. Shawn Douglas is a longtime Florida resident who is proud to serve the Gulf Coast community with excellent, friendly dental care. He is deeply committed to maintaining healthy teeth and creating beautiful smiles for every patient.
Dr. Douglas graduated from the prestigious University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry. Following his training at UNC, he completed an elective residency at the University of Florida, where he focused on dental implants and full-mouth makeovers. He has been practicing dentistry since 2005 — over 20 years of experience.
Beyond his formal education, Dr. Douglas has completed hundreds of hours of continuing education, with advanced training in cosmetic and implant dentistry. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, and the West Coast District Dental Association.
Outside the office, Dr. Douglas and his wife, Jamie, enjoy waterskiing, biking, traveling, and playing with their dogs, Bella and Cassie. They are active members of Idlewild Baptist Church and regularly organize community service events. Dr. Douglas also volunteers locally and internationally — he recently led a team of dentists to Bolivia to provide free dental care to an underserved rural community while training South American dentists on the latest techniques.
Dr. Valentina Espinosa
Dr. Valentina Espinosa earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Miami in Coral Gables in 2010, then completed dental school at the University of Florida in Gainesville in 2014. She went on to complete a year in an Advanced Education in General Dentistry program at the Medical University of South Carolina to further her skills.
Dr. Espinosa enjoys restorative dentistry and working in a family setting. She is proficient in fillings, crowns, bridges, partials, dentures, and implant restorations. She is a member of the Florida Dental Association and the West Pasco Dental Association.
While in dental school, Dr. Espinosa met her husband, Dr. Shaun Young, who was also studying dentistry. She practiced in Atlanta for two years while he completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Emory University. After he graduated, they moved to the Tampa area, and Dr. Espinosa joined the practice in the fall of 2017.
Born in Caracas, Venezuela, Dr. Espinosa lived there until age seven, then spent three years in São Paulo, Brazil before her family relocated to Weston, Florida. She is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. Dr. Espinosa and Dr. Young have a daughter named Alessandra, and they enjoy spending weekends with family and friends and traveling together.
