Dr. Shawn Douglas is a longtime resident of Florida and is happy to be serving the community with excellent and friendly dental care. He is committed to maintaining healthy teeth and creating beautiful smiles.
Dr. Douglas graduated from the prestigious University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Dentistry. Following his training at UNC, Dr.Douglas completed an elective residency at the University of Florida. During this time, he focused on dental implants and performing full mouth makeovers.He has been practicing dentistry in the Lutz and Odessa communities since 2006.
In addition to his formal education, Dr. Douglas has completed hundreds of hours of continuing education. His advanced training includes cosmetic and implant dentistry.
In his personal life, Dr. Douglas and his wife, Jamie, enjoy waterskiing, biking, traveling, and playing with their dogs, Bella and Cassie.They are active members of Idlewild Baptist Church, where they regularly organize and participate in community services events.
Dr. Douglas continues to volunteer locally and internationally. Recently, he led a team of dentists on a trip to Bolivia where they provided free dental care to an underserved rural community. While there, Dr. Douglas had the opportunity to train South American dentists on the latest techniques in dentistry.
Education and Continuing Education
Dr. Valentina Espinosa earned her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Miami in Coral Gables in 2010, and then completed dental school at the University of Florida in Gainesville in 2014. Then, she completed a year in an Advanced Education in General Dentistry program at the Medical University of South Carolina to further her dental knowledge and skills.
In the Practice
Dr. Espinosa enjoys doing restorative dentistry and working in a family setting. She is proficient in fillings, crowns, bridges, partials, dentures, and implant restorations. Dr. Espinosa is a member of the Florida Dental Association and the West Pasco Dental Association.
Family and Community
While in dental school, Dr. Espinosa met her husband, Dr. Shaun Young, who was also studying dentistry at the time. Dr. Espinosa worked in a private practice in Atlanta for two years while her husband completed his residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Emory University. After her husband graduated, they moved to the Tampa area and Dr. Espinosa began working for Dr. Robert Wolfenden in the fall of 2017.
Dr. Espinosa was born in Caracas, Venezuela, and lived there until she was seven years old. She then lived in Sao Paulo, Brazil for 3 years and then her family relocated to Weston, FL. Dr. Espinosa is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. Dr. Espinosa and Dr. Young have a 1 year old daughter named Alessandra. They enjoy spending time with family and friends on the weekends and traveling.

Dr. Wolfenden is from Athens, Tennessee, and has lived and practiced dentistry in Trinity since 1996. Dr. Wolfenden graduated with a DDS from theUniversity of Tennessee. He has been serving patients since 1982 and attributes his hands-on experience to validating his dental education endeavors.
Dr. Wolfenden enjoys learning as much as he can to provide the most proven and effective dental treatments so his patients can receive the best care. He is continuously sharpening his skills and expanding knowledge by continuing education courses and professional study clubs.
Dr. Wolfenden enjoys helping people every day. Each appointment provides a new opportunity for patients to enhance their dental health. He knows that no two patients are alike and aims to present the best treatment available. He always takes the time to establish trust with each of his patients and exceed their expectations for great dental care.
His lovely wife, Lestina, also works in the office. Their son, Keith, is a dentist in the practice, and his brother Rob is a restaurant executive inBrandon. As a family, they work together to provide a warm and welcoming atmosphere where patients can feel comfortable. When he is not in the office, he loves sailing, running, kayaking, and going to the beach. Dr. Wolfenden is an elder in Generations Christian Church, which allows him to keep close to people he helps every day. Additionally, he volunteers at the Good Samaritans Clinic and Give Kids a Smile events.
